Chain vs. belt what's your pick?

You've probably spent some time riding your e-bike, and maybe you've even used both chain and belt drives, or at least know people who have. Both have good things about them, but it seems like everyone likes one more than the other.

Which one has been better for you when you’re out riding? Let's hear what you have to say!

I've mostly used chain drives since that's what I learned on. I like how tough they are, even if they need a bit more upkeep

When I got my first e-bikes I went with a chain because that's what everyone used. I switched to belt on my commuter bike and was amazed at how quiet it was. But for trails I still like the chain it feels more solid when things get bumpy.

I began with chain drives ages ago which was okay until I got sick of keeping it clean and lubed. A friend told me to try a belt and I was shocked at how smooth and easy it was. Belts are winners for daily riding. But if I'm hitting tough trails or pushing it I still trust a chain

Oddly, I don't have a belt drive myself, but a friend loves them. I've always used chains because I'm used to them, but I wanna try a belt sometime.

When I started riding I didn't even know belt drives existed. For years I used chains and dealt with grease and broken links. Then I borrowed a friend’s belt-drive e-bike for a weekend and it changed my mind quiet, smooth, and clean. Since then I've been thinking about using belts for everyday use, but I still have a chain-drive bike for tougher trails.
