Non-riding hobbies to keep you sane during the off-season

With your bike tucked away and the charger humming softly, you find yourself pacing the garage. When you can’t hit the road, what technical tinkering, random projects, or unrelated hobbies can you dive into to keep your hands busy and your sanity intact until riding season returns?

I usually end up in the corner with a soldering iron and some old RC gadgets I never finished. Somehow rewiring a tiny motor feels almost as satisfying as riding, and bonus, zero risk of mud in my face.

When the bike’s asleep, I dive into chain maintenance experiments or small metalworking projects.
esterday it was fabricating a tiny stand for my helmet, today who knows but at least my garage isn’t silent enough to hear my sanity squeak

I hit up 3D printing random doodads or tinkering with battery packs. It’s like cheating winter still technical, still hands-on, and somehow less painful than staring at the garage door wondering when spring will show up.
