Is rapid charging on the trail really worth it?

When you’re out in the wilderness and your battery starts to drain, you can feel the panic set in as voltage sag kicks in and your gear begins to act up. While rapid charging can handle the heat, is it really worth the extra weight? What portable chargers are you using, and what made you choose them?

I once attempted a 'fast-charge everything' backpack setup and it worked but by the second mile I was definitely rethinking my choices.
Now I’m all about lightweight reliable USB-C banks they might charge slower but they’re so much easier to carry around all day

After hauling some hefty chargers into the backcountry, I found my back complaining a lot more than my battery ever did. So, I made the switch to a lightweight solar pack, sure it charges slower but it’s a game changer for longer hikes where I don’t want to feel like a pack mule.

There was one trip when my voltage dipped right as I was trying to log GPS waypoints talk about panic! Now, I go for a compact lithium pack, it may not be the fastest option, but it keeps my gear powered up without putting a strain on my shoulders.
