The first time I tried to align the wheels without taking them off, I spent hours chasing down a vibration. Now, I just use chalk lines and a couple of straight edges. It's a quick visual check with minor tweaks, and I don’t have to remove any wheels. It saves time and keeps me from cursing at my own equipment.

Once wasted half a morning taking off wheels, only to find out it was a bent axle causing the issue.
Now, I measure the hub-to-hub distances and roll a straight bar along the drivetrain.
It’s quick, a bit rough around the edges, but surprisingly accurate.
No extra disassembly, plus more time for coffee breaks.

Noticed a slight wobble in a loader once and didn’t want to deal with removing the wheels. Instead, I use a laser pointer or a string line across the hubs, spin everything, and look for deviations.
