I picked up a used 2023 Freeride E-XC and took it for a ride on some rocky trails near my place. The rear suspension felt pretty stiff over the smaller stuff, even at lower speeds. Has anyone found a good way to soften the WP setup for trail use without changing out parts?

I think the first and easiest thing to check is your sag. Make sure your static sag and rider sag are set correctly for your weight. If the rear is too high, it rides in a stiffer part of the stroke. After that, try backing out your HSC damping a few clicks first, maybe two to three, and see how that feels. Then try softening the LSC one or two clicks, which should help with the slow, rocky stuff. Go easy, one adjustment at a time, and take notes! You'll probably want to leave the rebound alone unless the bike starts kicking too much.
