Storm Bee MX went into limp mode after long uphill climb

I took my Storm Bee MX out to the trails during my holiday in Southern Utah. It was absolutely hammering a long, steep single-track climb in Sport mode. Near the top, the power suddenly cut hard, not completely off, but felt like it instantly dropped into a super-restricted ECO mode, and I thought I saw a small temperature warning flash on the dash before it went away. I stopped for about ten minutes, and when I restarted it, everything was back to normal and full power.

Is the bike just naturally going into limp mode to protect the battery or controller? Is this a common issue when pushing the continuous power output for that long, or should I be looking into better controller ventilation or firmware? I've tackled long steep trails before but probably this was the hottest I was riding it. It was about 90 degrees outside. Thanks for any insight!

It seems like the thermal protection feature has activated, probably a sort of limp mode that’s designed to protect the controller or battery. This typically happens under heavy loads and high temps. If it keeps happening, enhancing cooling systems or making some firmware adjustments could help

Hey, also keep an eye on those battery temps, some batteries will cut power if they get too hot. Logging your ride data can show you if it's the motor, controller, or battery that's getting too warm.
