How do you manage FXS battery health day to day?

I just picked up a Zero FXS and plan to use it mostly for commuting around town, maybe 20–30 miles a day. Range anxiety is real though, and I don't want to mess up the battery by charging the wrong way. Do you guys top off the battery every night, or is it better to let it drain down before plugging in? I've heard different things about charging to 80% vs 100%, and I'm not sure what actually matters with these bikes. Any tips on getting the most out of the FXS battery for daily commuting without killing it early?

about charging to 80% vs 100%, and I'm not sure what actually matters with these bikes.
The 80% rule is a good general guideline for lithium batteries, but it's more important for long term storage (like over the winter).
For daily use, going to 100% is fine and gives you that extra cushion to fight range anxiety. The real damage to a battery happens when it's left at 100% or below 20% for long periods

I've always read that 100% maxing out batteries puts strain on them long-term and 80% is usually the best target range.

For your Zero FXS and your daily 20–30 mile commute, Consistently topping off the battery nightly is the best way for long-term battery health.

Modern lithium-ion batteries prefer staying in a middle charge range rather than being fully drained or constantly held at 100%. Plugging in every night keeps the charge high. While limiting charging to 80–90% is ideal for maximum longevity, it isn't necessary for daily use... charging to 100% is fine when you need it, but for simple commuting, keeping it plugged in or close to full will serve you best.

Maintain your battery in the sweet spot which is 20% to 90% and you will significantly extend the useful life of your Zero FXS pack, minimizing capacity loss over its lifetime. Enjoy the ride!
